This Space Intentionally Left Blank.

When I started writing it, this play didn't have a point. It was a short one-act, almost a sketch; a simple little joke about how prophesies go wrong. But as I wrote, I found something deeper, more sincere, and more heartfelt than the simple joke I meant to write.
I don't know that it matters whether or not you find the same meaning in it that I do, or any deeper meaning at all. If the only thing it does for you is make you laugh, I think there's meaning in that too.
That early one-act version was produced in December 2014 at the Eclectic Theatre (Longer) One-Act Play Festival, under the title The Second Chances of Macbeth, directed by Karen DeMasters and featuring Michael Ryan Blackwood, Hannah Specter, Rhys Henley, Tina Devrin, Molly Blades, Jessica Severance, Kendra Phillips, and Allison Irvine.

Li Wessel (Macbeth) has played Macduff and the Porter in previous productions of Macbeth and has almost played Lady Macbeth twice. They have extetensive experience in buthering both fencing opponents and classic texts and are grateful for the opportunity to do more of both.
Elliott Lovett (they/them) (Banquo) is grateful for this opportunity to clown around and bring a new work to life. Previous credits include Pigeon in Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus (Admiral Theatre), King Louis XI in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (BPA), Stuart in Stuart Little (Centerstage), The Prince in The Last of the Dragons (Centerstage), Antonio in Twelfth Night (Rainy Day Artistic Collective), Little Red in Into the Woods (UW Stage Notes), and Columbia in Rocky Horror (Century College). Next up: Emojiland at SecondStory Rep. Website: elliottlovett.com
Lakia Solomon (Lady Macbeth) Lakia (Luh-key-uh) originates from McKinleyville, CA, the Jewel of the West coast so they say (dont ask her who they are…) After graduating from Southern Oregon University, she spent time with the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Idaho Shakes, and Redwood Curtain Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include Tituba in The Crucible, and Marianna Angelle in The Revolutionists. When not acting you can find her reading, writing and playing way too much Baldur’s Gate (or just Dungeons and Dragons in general).
Sam Demboski (Duncan) is a writer/director/performer who spends most of her time doing sketch comedy and lecturing people about labor law, but she's always down for the authentic theatrical experience when it comes from Left Blank Productions. In recent years, she has performed at Seattle Sketchfest, appeared in Within A Show, and directed for The Long Day of Short Plays. You can also find her planning fan conventions (for fun) and sterilizing surgical instruments (for money). If any of that sounds cool, you can follow her on Instagram (@tvs_hit_spn_drama_hot_angel). By day, she sterilizes surgical instruments. By night, she thinks about how happy she is that you're seeing this show. Yes, she means you. You, reading this right now. Thank you.
Leah Carrell (she/her) (Ross) is an actor, educator, voiceover artist, and writer in the Seattle area. Since moving to the West Coast, she’s worked with multiple theatre companies including Leavenworth Summer Theater, Dacha, and Woodinville Rep. Before moving to Seattle, Leah taught in New York for more than a decade collaborating with Broadway shows including Wicked, In the Heights, and Grease! as well as Cirque du Soleil on their educational programming. She graduated from Ithaca College, earned her Master’s degree at NYU, and was selected to study at the British American Drama Academy's "Midsummer in Oxford" intensive in the UK.
Sydney Kaser (she/her) (Lennox) is thrilled to bits to be part of this crew of Shakespeare clowns. Credits include Celia (As You Like It), Titania (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Abel/Macduff (Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth), Margaret (Silent Sky), Kayla (Hotdish), Emily (Elf: The Musical), and the 14/48 Projects. Huzzah!
Brandon Brown (Macduff) is doubly delighted to be clowning around on Crown Hill in this original Left Blank production. Favorite past Shakespearean roles include Hamlet, Sir Andrew, and Macbeth. He can next be seen as Camillo in GreenStage’s The Winter’s Tale.
Rebecca Gelzer (she/her) (Malcolm) is grateful to romp around and swap iambs with these hilarious people. When she’s not pretending to be a Scottish lad, she can be found in her garden, on the water, around some good matcha, or under a tree. Previous credits include: Till We Have Faces and A Charlie Brown Christmas with Taproot Theatre Co, Pride and Prejudice with Harlequin Productions, and The How and the Why with Artemis Theatre. Shakespeare & Company alumni. “Great Scotts! We hope you like our Scottish play!”
Beth Thompson (Understudy) is thrilled to be understudying in The Comedy of Macbeth, where she spends most rehearsals lurking ominously and learning everyone’s lines “just in case”. Previous credits include playing Lara in Within a Show, continuing an accidental streak of theater productions suspiciously aware they are a theater production, as well as Just Fine in The Long Days of Short Plays. Outside the theater, Beth works as an aircraft mechanic, which somehow involves less chaos than rehearsals. Thanks to the cast and crew for being endlessly talented, supportive, and entertaining.
David "Gordon" Gordon (Director) served as Assistant Director for a production of Macbeth in 2014, and now, 12 years later, he is proud to have finally graduated to full Director. He also directs Sound & Fury: an improvised Shakespeareance, opening June 26 at CSz Seattle.
David "Gordon" Gordon (Playwright)
has been writing plays for more than a decade, and has been tinkering with The Comedy of Macbeth specifically for almost all of that time. He has written numerous short plays, performed in many improv shows, and once started a podcast about the anarchist pop group Chumbawamba.
He gets knocked down, but he gets up again, you’re never going to keep him down.
Meghan Ames (Clown Director) a professional idiot and instructor of wanna-be fools, is so pleased to have had the chance to work with this cast. They'd like to thank Gordon and Karly for their support in this role and wish broken legs to everyone. Yes, even you. You can find Meghan clowning and performing with The UMO Ensemble (@UMOensemble) as well as teaching and instructing across the Puget Sound.
Karly Crooks (Stage Manager) has it under control. Whatever it is.
Casandra Gramstad (Asst. Stage Manager) last worked with David Gordon on a production of Macbeth 12 years ago. It was very different from this one. She played Second Murderer, which is similar to Assistant Stage Manager in at least one respect.
Henry Ives (Stage Manager) made his debut in Seattle theatre stage managing Within a Show for Left Blank Productions after moving from Salem, OR. Past credits include working with Latitude Theatre, ReBoot Theatre, Sound Theatre Company, Willamette University and Theatre 33 as a stage manager, designer, and technician.
Sam Holsworth (Costumes) is a multi-disciplinary theatermaker originally from Pensacola, Florida. She loves puns, cats, reality tv, and D&D. COSTUMING: The 14/48 Projects, Theater Anonymous, Cafe Nordo, Annex Theatre, Theater Schmeater, Live Wires!, SecondStory Repertory, Pensacola Little Theatre. DIRECTING: Left Blank Productions, Seattle Choral Company, Lungfish Productions, Ghostlight Theatricals, SecondStory Repertory, Wilder Elementary School, Pensacola Little Theatre. WARDROBE: Sound Theatre Company, Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan Society, Seattle Musical Theatre. STAGE MANAGEMENT: Broadway Bound, Village KIDSTAGE. BA Theatre, FSU. Love to Brodyjohn, who body-doubled me during this show’s build for the duration of multiple seasons of The Traitors.
MM Jordahl (Props) is always down for a crafting challenge, and is a compulsive learner of new skills, which it turns out is the perfect preparation for prolific props production. Previous props work includes Left Blank Productions' Long Day of Short Plays and other various miscellany.
Adrienne Ankuda (Additional Props) made all the dolls, which is pretty impressive. If you're sitting in the audience and the show hasn't started yet, you'll seee them shortly. And if you've seen them, then you know what we're talking about and we're sure you're suitably impressed.
