An improv experiment

Casting is weird. You decide what show you want to do, then go out and hope
you find the right performers to do it.
Even in improv theatre
(which by nature is more flexible), you'll often audition performers who are good,
but not a fit for the style or tone that you're aiming for.
This Space Intentionally Left Blank was an improv show that asked: what if we cast the performers first, then built the show around their style instead?

The group that came together ultimately called themselves Tom's Dinner (two 'n's, like the meal). They were often surreal and sometimes dark, but always with an underlying sincerity and heart that was a reflection of the players in a way that no pre-set show format could have been.
After the planned run of shows in August 2017, the troupe continued independently for several years, staying funny, strange, and true to themselves.
